Job Requirement:
Our client is a leading international business law and litigation firm, recognized as a best employer in 2023, and they are seeking a Legal Assistant with Commercial Lending and Real Estate experience to work in their downtown Vancouver office.
Role Overview
The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Commercial Litigation Group by providing comprehensive clerical and administrative support. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage administrative tasks including email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, and handling conflict searches, file openings, and closings.
- Prepare and maintain a bring-forward system and provide timely reminders.
- Ensure that all physical and electronic filing is organized and regularly updated.
- Draft engagement letters and routine correspondence.
- Collaborate with Billing Coordinators to produce monthly accounts.
- Provide backup support in the absence of other assistants or team members.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Legal Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with large firm experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of business and legal terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with 3E, iManageWork, and DocuSign.
- Familiarity with basic litigation procedures is an asset.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually, with the base pay determined by location and various factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
