Job Requirement:

Our client, is a large multinational law firm, who is seeking a highly organized and experienced Float Legal Assistant to support their Business Group in Vancouver. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Business Group by covering for Legal Assistants during vacation and sick leave, as well as assisting during peak workloads.
  • Edit, format, and revise legal documents, including letters, memos, reports, and court forms, using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, based on dictation or other instructions.
  • Assist with the initiation of documentation and correspondence on active files.
  • Handle the opening and closing of client/matter files and update client file lists as needed.
  • Maintain an organized file management and bring-forward system.
  • File legal documents at the Court Registries.
  • Scan, photocopy, and compile court documents and briefs for litigation purposes.
  • Prepare cheque requisitions and organize courier packages for delivery.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail for the department.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties and assist other team members as required.
  • Engage in routine tasks and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably with a focus on Business.
  • Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (experience with additional legal software, such as Chrome River, SAP, MS Teams, and iManage, is an asset).
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a capacity to delegate tasks as necessary.
  • Proven ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all levels.
  • Impeccable spelling and grammar skills.

Salary:

$56,679 - $70,000. Final salary will be determined based on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
