Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from international volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting into one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.
E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment, Internet and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that when working with the partners, emails will not be responded to immediately. For most of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers and flexibility and patience is a valuable e-volunteer characteristic.

Do you want to use your website development skills and promote women's rights? This is the role for you!
Support Asociacion Octupan as you develop a website to help them promote their activities and work with women in rural communities of Nicaragua. In this role, you will help increase their visibility and brand recognition by volunteering your skills.
As an e-volunteer, you will:
- Establish a plan for the development of a website for Asociacion Octupan;
- In collaboration with staff at Asociacion Octupan, develop the website to promote their activities and their work;
- Prepare a guide for maintenance of the website for staff members at Asociacion Octupan.
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- Training in website development or other relevant combination of training and experience.
Essential Professional Background:
- Experience in the development of websites and web content for NGOs
OCTUPAN develops and manages food security projects. The organization aims at incentivizing economic growth through highly-productive groups or groups that have the potential to become highly-productive. OCTUPAN’s focus is the capacity building of both technical teams and the productive groups in Condega and Palacagüina, in order to increase local revenue and local employment. The association was formed in March 1998 and legally constituted in 2002.
OCTUPAN´s main purpose is to accompany the families of small producer’s through a process of permanent reflection and organization with a strong focus in community equity in order to contribute with the development process, improvement of agricultures and socio-economic system, and improvements in the people´s quality of life within the territories where it works.
OCTUPAN has two main programs: "Production and Environment" and "Citizenship Promotion", both programs incorporate gender and environment as cross cutting themes.
Mission - Increase the capacities of rural families of Esteli and Madriz so that they are able to respond and solve their social and economic needs with sustainability, equity and self-management.
Vision - Octupan possesses a vision according to the changes of behavior it expects to achieve within its target population. Those changes include: target population has changed their attitude facing the different social problems and they are actively involved in the identification of solutions. The work of institutions has caused positive changes in the target population´s behavior which contributes to improve their personal, family and community relations.
