About E-Volunteering

Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from international volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting into one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.

E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment, Internet and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. Consequently, it is reasonable to assume that when working with the partners, emails will not be responded to immediately. For most of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers and flexibility and patience is a valuable e-volunteer characteristic.

About Our Partner

St. Patrick's Foundation

St. Patrick’s Foundation is in Seaview Gardens and was founded in 1994 by the Late Monsignor Richard Albert. It is a non-profit community development and training organization that benefit the people of several inner-city communities including Seaview Gardens, Riverton City, Olympic Gardens and Waterhouse. The Foundation provides human resource development skills training through their three community centres, in the following areas: Woodwork, Commercial Food Preparation, Electrical Installation, Cosmetology and Customer Engagement Operations. The programs are accredited by the Heart Trust NTA. The Foundation also operates an Early Childhood Education Centre in Riverton Meadows and St. Monica’s Home for Abandoned Elderly and Adults with HIV/AIDS in White marl, St. Catherine

The Foundation would love an opportunity to highlight the scope of work being done within the inner-city communities as well as make an appeal to all of Jamaica for help with additional projects.

Our Mission

Our mission is to impart relevant skills, opportunities and caring to residents of selected low-income communities, thereby making possible their social and economic advancement; while fostering a high sense of urgency to succeed on the part of those rendering the service, continued goodwill among shareholders and national recognition as a vital human services organization.

The Foundation seeks to alleviate human suffering and offer support to people in vulnerable communities. We aim to empower and motivate them to become self-reliant and responsible citizens. Through our three community centres, the Foundation provides Human Resource Development Skills Training. The Foundation also operates a home for the abandoned elderly as well as a feeding program for Golden Agers.
