Site Superintendent - Vancouver Island

 

This Site Superintendent role is a multi-year addition and seismic upgrade on small town Vancouver Island school.

 

OUR CLIENT:

A Construction Management company with a history of success on Civic, Commercial and Education projects. They have a large amount of work now and in the pipeline across BC with focus on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, so there is big potential to stay long term. Speaking of long term their history of long tenured employees is impressive.

 

THE PROJECT:

  • Addition and seismic upgrade on neighboring elementary and high schools
  • Located in small town Vancouver Island
  • Project runs through 2022
  • Project crew count of 25-30 typically
  • Supported by a CSO

KEY DUTIES:

  • Lead the project with detailed site management and daily site presence
  • Recruit additional staff to keep project on-schedule
  • Push trades to meet deadlines and stick to staffing commitments
  • Work closely with school board and inspectors
  • Master the project drawings
  • Onboard new hires
  • Other duties typical of a Superintended role (can be discussed during interview process)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Open to relocation to a small Vancouver Island town for 15 months
  • Experience on structural and/or seismic upgrades (or complex retrofits)
  • 3+ years as a Site Superintendent
  • 10+ years of construction experience
  • Experienced running projects with 20+   workers on-site
  • Comfortable enforcing a Covid safe jobsite
  • Assets: Experience with Bluebeam, Excel, Outlook and photo-logging with a phone

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary of $90,000 - $110,000
  • Housing assistance due to project being in a small town
  • Vacation allowance of 2 or 3 weeks
