Heavy Duty Mechanic

Our client,  located in the Lashburn area, is a long-standing contributor to the community with a reputation of trust and respect. We are in search of a self-motivated dedicated  Heavy Duty Mechanic with AG Mechanic background. After hours or weekends would be ideal as the trucks are usually out during the day.   

Competitive compensation package with a wage range $35 - $55/hour.   Full time, permanent position. Excellent Benefits, 3 weeks Vacation

Responsibilities:

• Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of heavy equipment, including front load, side load and roll off trucks
• Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary.  
• Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires and clutches
• Test drive trucks to ensure satisfactory performance
• Keep tools, equipment and work area clean, organized and in good working condition
• Complete detailed, clear and concise work orders
• Maintain shop supply inventory

Qualifications / Skills:

§   Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty or Ag Mechanic

§   A minimum of 3 years' work experience is required

§   Sound mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions

§   Experience using diagnostic software with Cat, Cummins, Pac-car and Detroit is an asset

§   Strong time management skills

§   Must be able to lift repetitively 50 pounds or more

§   Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License is an asset

§   Safety and goal orientated
