Our employer is looking to hire an Investment Analyst.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Source, screen and conduct due diligence on a wide spectrum of investment opportunities across asset classes including Public Equity, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets, Hedge Funds and Fixed Income
  • Prepare detailed investment research reports for presentation to the firm's Investment Committee
  • Participate in and lead discussions in the firm's Investment Committee meetings
  • Support the ongoing due diligence and monitoring of existing investments
  • Participate in meetings with third party managers and write meeting notes
  • Contribute to the research and formulation of views on various investment strategies under differing macroeconomic environments
  • Provide input to the asset allocation and portfolio construction process
  • Assist in the management of the firm's investment vehicles.Contribute to the enhancement of the firm's sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring processes
  • Assist in the analysis of ad hoc investment opportunities on behalf of our clients
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance reports
  • Contribute to the writing of investment primers and white papers on topical subjects
  • Continually look for ways to automate processes and help make the firm more efficient
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities assigned to you by the firm

    Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or advanced business degree (e.g. B.Comm, BBA, MBA etc.)
  • CFA, CAIA, Master of Finance or other relevant investment-related designations would be considered an asset
  • 3-5 years experience doing due diligence with a focus on alternatives investments, both liquid (Hedge Funds) and illiquid (Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate). Ideally you will have experience of the full due diligence process from start to finish and be able to work with limited support
  • Good understanding of a wide range of financial instruments as well as a solid understanding of common hedge fund and private market strategies
  • Experience doing due diligence on direct deals and co-investments would be considered an asset
  • Experience working as part of a portfolio management team will be a positive
  • Experience working with Salesforce Financial Cloud would be considered an asset
  • Qualified to be registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (or similar provincial regulator) as an Assistant Advising Representative (``AAR'') or an Advising Representative (``AR'') would be considered favorably
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
