Our employer is looking to guide families through the refugee application process.

Job Function:

This role involves working with diverse stakeholders to review information draft compelling narratives to support the applicants' reasons for seeking refuge. This position is a full time contract position, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and in person at their offices.

  • Offer guidance and support to families throughout the application process, ensuring they understand the requirements and procedures involved.
  • Collaborate with refugee applicants, family members, and Constituent Group members to compile detailed information for the sponsorship application forms.
  • Assist families in the collection of relevant information and documentation required to support their refugee applications.
  • Analyze and verify the accuracy of the data collected.
  • Aid applicants in drafting clear, concise, and compelling narratives that effectively communicate their reasons for seeking refuge.
  • Perform program and country-condition research as required.
  • Complete refugee applications within specified deadlines.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to program leads.
  • Stay up to-date on changes in immigration policies and procedures to provide accurate and timely information to applicants.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for applicants from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and understanding.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals, community organizations, and governmental agencies to facilitate the application process.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirement:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Immigration law, or related field.
  • Certified or working toward certification as an Immigration Consultant will be an asset.
  • Experience in researching and interpreting provincial and federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures will be an asset.
  • Excellent oral, verbal and written English communication skills.
    Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including strong Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in languages such as Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, Tigrinya, Farsi, etc.
