Brief Description:

Our employer is a local Shul looking to hire an event manager with technical abilities, people skills and understanding of Jewish culture.

Job Function:

  • Overall management, coordination, and implementation of Beth Sholom’s special event fundraisers. Including, but not limited to: Annual Golf Tournament; Annual Brotherhood Dinner & Draw; Humanitarian Dinner
  • Overall management, coordination, and implementation of other special events (non-fundraisers). Including, but not limited to: Unsung Heroes Awards Breakfast; Peace of Mind Shabbat Dinner; Installation Dinner & Dance
  • Overall management, coordination, and implementation of all other creative programming as it emerges such as Arts & Culture, Music, Social Justice, Social, Seniors, Israeli Culture, including the ShinShinim and other programming events that may be undertaken from time to time.
  • Create and develop program partners from various Jewish and non-Jewish organizations within the Toronto community and abroad
Job Requirement:

  • Bachelors’ degree required
  • 2 – 5 years of programming experience
  • Exceptionally creative, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Collaborative and team player
  • Experience working with committees and various stakeholders
  • Excellent command of English written and verbal
  • Strong technical skills, such as data base/CRM; Excel; etc…
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community, rituals and services, and the Hebrew language would be a strong asset
