Brief Description:

Our employer is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping immigrants with resettlement in the GTA looking for individual to lead their Human Resources department with a focus on fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture. With oversight of two unions within the agency,  play a crucial role in shaping their workforce's growth and development. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and lead initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent while championing EDI across all facets of the organization.

Job Function:

Equity and Inclusion, and Workplace Culture:

  • Develop and implement talent management strategies aligned with the JIAS' values and mission
  • Design and execute policies and programs to promote an inclusive and engaging workplace culture
  • Establish metrics to measure our success as an equitable employer
  • Advise the Board of Directors HR Committee and Executive Director on critical HR matters

Organizational Development and Culture:

  • Lead cultural transformation and enhance employee engagement across the agency
  • Evaluate and optimize HR procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Drive proactive labour relations strategies and oversee conflict resolution processes

Performance Management:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop workforce plans aligned with organizational goals
  • Implement performance planning processes and succession planning strategies
  • Oversee staff supervision and evaluation procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Certified Human resources Leader (CHRL) designation or equivalent
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or social services setting
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-site organizations, emphasizing employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Proven track record in developing equity, diversity, and inclusion policies, programs, and practices to foster a positive workplace culture
  • Senior leadership experience in labour relations, including managing unionized settings,
    handling grievances, and conducting collective bargaining negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and conflict resolution
  • Expertise in assessing salary and benefits administration plans and programs
  • Experience in developing performance plans and measuring performance indicators
  • Strong listening, collaboration, and team-building skills to facilitate coordination and consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, consult, and negotiate effectively
