Brief Description:
Our employer is seeking a Child Protection Worker to provide direct intervention and other practical and concrete services to clients using appropriate techniques and methods of social work practice. |
Job Function:
- Responsible for the investigation of child protection allegations to families and institutions and service to families that require ongoing services
- Ensure the protection of children by receiving initial referrals and investigating as per the Child, Youth & Family Services Act
- Provide support and intervention to clients using a range of appropriate methodologies and techniques to best meet client needs
- Liaise with professional and community staff to provide support services in line with the case management plan
- Provide ongoing duty to report presentations as part of community outreach and agency liaison activities concerning the client population
- Complete and maintain up-to-date case notes and recordings while complying with Ministry standards
- Maintain current knowledge of legislation and government prescribed procedures, regulations, and child protection standards as per the Differential Response Model.
- Regularly provide on-call coverage for immediate response cases
- Required to participate on the emergency after hours team
- Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:
- MSW or BSW or equivalent Human Services Degree
- 3 or more years of related experience in child welfare case management
- Authorized under the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies (OACAS) or willing to complete the Authorization Candidacy Exam
- Clinical, assessment and/or client service delivery experience required
- Working knowledge of CPIN (Child Protection Information Network) will be considered an asset
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary team
- Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Jewish culture, community needs and resources considered an asset
- Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle is required
