Brief Description:

Our employer is a dynamic egalitarian Conservative Congregation. They are looking for an individual to report to and be accountable to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the clergy team, board, and local communities to create a welcoming and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will also provide hands-on support, direction, and leadership to the office staff to meet the needs of the synagogue and local community.

Job Function:

  • Organizational Leadership: collaborates with the clergy team, supports the Board on its strategic plan and energizes employees to help with the growth efforts of the synagogue
  • Financial Management: oversees the management of the synagogue’s finances in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Building and Property Management: day-to-day responsibility for the maintenance of the property and to ensure all equipment is in good working condition
  • Programming & Membership: assisting various committees in developing, implementing and supporting high-quality programs as required and ensuring effective record-keeping practices for memberships and events
  • People Management: ensuring appropriate staff are recruited, developed and empowered and establishing high-quality service to members
  • Information Technology: Computer savvy, maximizing existing technologies for efficiency and safeguarding confidential records with appropriate security systems
  • Communications: Implements and maintains an effective communications strategy that provides current, relevant, and timely information to the members and external audiences
  • Fundraising & Outreach: organize and participate in fundraising campaigns, helping identify donors, and seeking ways to promote shul activities externally
Job Requirement:

  • Shul Cloud, MS Office and specifically Outlook
  • You will thrive in a diverse, dynamically changing environment, by skillfully managing priorities, displaying adept problem-solving capability, with a keen ability to deploy resources effectively
  • Related experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure an efficient office operation
  • Being self-motivated and goal-oriented to meet goals promptly
  • Skilled communicator, both written and oral, to provide clarity and understanding for staff clergy and members alike, creating confidence, positivity and trust
  • Understanding of Conservative and Egalitarian values, rituals, customs and practices that reflect the culture and image of the synagogue
  • Having a futuristic strategic perspective on growth opportunities and the potential to create and shape community growth
  • Possesses a team-oriented mindset that engages, empowers and inspires others and works seamlessly with the staff, clergy team, the President/Board, the Montessori Jewish Day School, suppliers and assorted committees
