Brief Description:

Our employer is a manufacturer of smart armoured vehicles looking for an individual who will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in ensuring seamless and secure IT operations. The person in the role will support all aspects of IT network, data, and system management, aiding in process automation, project management, and technical documentation.

Job Function:

  • Set up and secure network components (routers, firewalls) and manage VPN access.
  • Develop backup protocols and test recovery plans to ensure data availability.
  • Install, monitor, and back up servers and databases for optimal performance.
  • Conduct security tests and enforce data protection measures to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on various operating systems including Windows, MacOS, etc.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions in accordance with company policies using different tools.
  • Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system to maintain accurate records for future reference.
  • Assess current IT systems and processes to identify and implement automation improvements.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within an organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement solutions for recurring issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on computer systems.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirement:

  • 1-3 Years in the Information Technology Field.
  • 2+ years supporting Microsoft Windows 7/10 desktop operating systems in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of antivirus software and virus/malware removal techniques.
  • Ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot new/unfamiliar software tools.
  • Basic knowledge of networking technologies and tools including: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, PING, VPN.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Fluent in English, additional languages, an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience working remotely from home office.
