Our employer is a telecom service provider looking for an individual to have the required combination of education, experience, and skills to be successful as a Senior Accounting Clerk.

Job Function:

  • Detail-oriented with over 5 years of experience in this field.
  • Must be capable of handling multi-companies bookkeeping.
  • Must have a working knowledge of all aspects of accounting - Payroll, Monthly/Quarterly Tax Filing, Bank reconciliation, Visa analysis, etc.
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Payroll cheques on a bi-weekly basis along with Government remittances as required and Payroll year-end duties.
  • Preparing Financial Statements for external Auditors at Year-End and working along with external auditors to complete Companies Year-end.
  • Problem-solving, along with overlooking the accounting department.
  • Working knowledge of any accounting software along with Word & Excel.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to handle anything that may be assigned going forward.
  • Must be fluent in English.

Job Requirement:

1. Educational (Optional but Beneficial) Requirements:

  • High School Diploma at a minimum.
  • Certified Bookkeeper, or any other Accounting Training.

2. Work Experience:

  • Experience in Accounting: At least 2-5 years of experience working in accounting or finance, with knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Financial Reports: The ability to prepare, analyze, and understand financial statements.

3. Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in accounting tasks, such as data entry, balance sheets, and reconciliation.
  • Time Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain well-organized records and documents.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with teams and external entities.

4. Other Requirements:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address discrepancies or issues that arise in financial records or accounting processes.
  • Confidentiality, integrity and discretion.

5. Soft Skills:

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well with others in an accounting team and across departments.
  • Leadership Abilities: While it may not always involve direct management, the clerk may need to train or oversee junior clerks.
  • Proactive Attitude: Taking the initiative in addressing accounting challenges or improving accounting processes.
