Jewish Studies Teacher (Bathurst & Glencairn)

Our employer is a Hebrew Day School looking for a passionate and dedicated Jewish Studies Teacher for a full-time Long-Term Occasional position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Hebrew Language and Tanach to Grades 6-8.

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Hebrew Language and Tanach.
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the Jewish Studies program.

Classroom Management

• Create a positive, safe classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation
• Implement effective and developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning atmosphere
• Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies

Communication and Collaboration

• Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and fellow teachers and administration
• Participate in Parent Teacher Conferences and school meetings

• A teaching certificate from Israel or Ontario is recommended
• Demonstrated fluency in Hebrew is essential
• Strong knowledge of Tanach and Jewish Studies
• Experience teaching Hebrew Language and Tanach is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• A passion for Jewish education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning
