Brief Description:
Our employer is a Reform Jewish shul with a history of responding to both tradition and modernity in religious and spiritual expression. They are looking for an individual who will work on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours/week), be responsible for the creation, delivery, and growth of their Youth Program comprised of diverse activities to engage our students in grades 2-12. Job Function:
- Create and implement youth group programming for our three areas of youth activities - YEAH (grades 2-5) JYG (grades 6-7) and HABSTY (grades 8-12)
- Act as a role model within the Youth Education Centre (YEC), assisting our young members in developing leadership and social skills, and engaging them in youth activities
- Mentor, support and train Senior Youth Group (Holy Awesome Blossom Senior Temple Youth - HABSTY) board members to create and lead programming and set goals and plans
- Create and oversee teen volunteer opportunities within HBT and the community inclusive of
- Mitzvah Bakers, HABSTY Bagel Boxes
- Establish a positive presence within the YEC and overall congregation inclusive of holiday programs and celebrations
- Assist the YEC Principal in developing and running the Madrichim (teacher's assistants) program, special programs and events in the YEC, and some curriculum development.
- Act as a supply teacher if/when needed
- Oversee logistics, marketing and budgeting of all youth programs inclusive of weekly lounge
- nights and other teen programming (HABSTY, Junior Youth Groups HBTeens events, etc.)
- Generate and implement communication/outreach for families, tweens & teens via email blasts, phone, social media, bulletin posts and other HBT marketing tools
- Collaborate with our community partners (NFTY, Camp George, Ve'ahavta, etc.)
- Other YEC/Youth related tasks as assigned
- Occasional travel to weekend retreats, conferences, and other travel as required

Job Requirement:
- A positive, enthusiastic and creative team leader who is passionate about making a difference to the future of Jewish youth.
- Experience working with tweens and teens and possess leadership skills enabling you to serve as a role model/mentor.
- Self-motivated, energetic and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills and are very social media savvy, can juggle multiple projects at once all while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Reform Judaism as both a practice and as an organizational network, especially the GTA community, is an asset.
- Guitar playing, song leading and ability to read Hebrew also an asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and pass a criminal background check.
- A valid Ontario Driver's license is an asset.
- This is a part-time contract position from the end of April, 2025 to the end of May, 2026 (13 months), with the possibility of extension.
