Our employer, a synagogue with a rich history of responding to both tradition and modernity in our religious and spiritual expression is looking to hire a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join their incredible teaching team. Their RECEs work in a collaborative teaching environment and report directly to the Director of the ECC.

Job Function:
The Opportunity
Since the 1960's, the ECC has been offering a high-quality, warm, nurturing and stimulating, educational, play-based program. They have expanded their programming and are seeking additional educators to join the team. They offer a morning toddler (9-11:30), school day preschool (9-2:55) and full-day toddler and preschool (8-5:30). The school operates Monday to Friday (Friday earlier dismissal), 12 months.

Job Requirement:
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a dedicated and creative teacher; Professional and collaborative; Able to adjust to the ECC culture and particular nuances that make the ECC and temple so unique. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal professionally and cordially with parents, clergy, synagogue employees and visitors. Must be a team player!
Requirements for RECE
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- At least 2 years' experience working as an ECE
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, member in good standing
- Qualifications for the RECE position will include knowledge of ELECT, and Children's Services Quality Assurance.
For both RECE and Assistant
- Current immunization record
- Valid first aid and CPR certification Level C
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Police background check (done within 6 months of start date with us)
- Interest in working in a Reform Jewish environment
- Enjoy being a team player and possess a passion for working with children
- Desire to continue to learn and grow in the early childhood profession
- Ability to plan for both and emergent and theme-based curriculum
- Strong and professional communication skills (both written and oral)
- Hard working, dedicated, enthusiastic with a genuine love for children
