Job Function:

Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director of Planning and Operations, the Coordinator will manage and expand the synagogue's social media presence through strategic content creation, planning, design, and community engagement.

 

Additionally, the coordinator will produce creative designs for events, newsletters, and marketing materials, contributing to the organization's overall success.

 

We seek a creative problem-solver with a sharp eye for design, strong attention to detail, and a passion for making a meaningful impact.

 

This is a one-year, 20-hours-per-week contract position with competitive compensation commensurate with education and experience. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Planning and Operations and be expected to work on-site 50% of the time.

Job Requirement:

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of graphic design experience
  • University or college degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience; non-profit experience is a significant asset

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) and web design/content management software
  • Experience with web-based advertising tools and marketing platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage social media strategies across multiple platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems

 

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, reliable, and discreet

 

Additional Knowledge/Experience

  • Familiarity with the Jewish community
  • Knowledge of the Jewish calendar, and customs
  • Experience working with Jewish organizations is an asset
  • Basic Hebrew is an asset
