Brief Description:

Our employer is a multi-service, client-centred, family service agency and a Children's Aid Society. They support the healthy development of individuals, children, families, and communities through prevention, protection, counselling, education, and advocacy services, within the context of Jewish values.


They are looking for an individual to provide trauma-informed, culturally-responsive counselling and support to individuals and families impacted by intimate partner violence (IPV), with a specialization in working with children, youth, and men within the family context. The role centers on survivor-led safety, relationship well-being, and accountability-oriented practices.


The incumbent may be assigned other tasks as needed and will also perform related activities and administrative duties as necessary.

Job Function:

  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and individual/family/group counselling.
  • Conduct assessments, coordinate case management, and connect clients with relevant supports (housing, legal, health, immigration, etc.).
  • Work directly with male clients—both survivors and those using violence—in accountability-focused interventions.
  • Hold male perpetrators of violence accountable for their behaviours and/or provide support to male victims/survivors of family violence.
  • Support children and youth exposed to IPV.
  • Respond to crisis/walk-in situations, adhering to all confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Develop and deliver IPV education and outreach programs to diverse community groups.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with service providers, schools, and faith-based organizations.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
  • Participate in supervision, audits, evaluations, and agency initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe and respectful environment for clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement:

  • MSW/BSW or equivalent and registration with OCSWSSW in good standing
  • Fluency in Hebrew and/or Russian is required
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience, preferably in IPV, family violence, or trauma work
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, crisis response, and therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, MI, ACT, Family Therapy)
  • Experience with trauma-informed, survivor-centred, and accountability-oriented approaches
  • Knowledge of the Child & Family Services Act and community resources
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and diverse identities are assets
