Job Function:

The Program Specialist is responsible for day-to-day oversight for department-specific programs. The Specialist will direct and coordinate program activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the estimated time period and in compliance with relevant agencies’ policies. Under supervision of the Program Manager or Program Administrator, will monitor program workflows, engage community partners, and ensure desired program outcomes are achieved


Provides administrative support for programs aligned to a specific department or division; ensures alignment with strategic program direction and monitors priorities based on identified needs and resources. Identifies critical service gaps/unmet needs and proposes new initiatives to address these needs. Monitors selected program goals, objectives, and content, giving consideration to logistics and incorporation of specific measurable outcomes and evaluation data.


Develops and maintains relationships with appropriate agencies to ensure effective delivery of services and successful achievement of project goals and objectives; develops formal interagency agreements, as needed. Participates in community consortia/collaboratives for planning and coordination of services.


Monitors expenses, program supplies and resource needs to ensure efficient use.


Supports program promotion, marketing and communication to internal and external partners, including website updates, as appropriate, in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Department. Supports community engagement with identified community partners and stakeholders to further project goals. Coordinate program-sponsored events and services as appropriate, including working with program leadership to design events, identify appropriate speakers and participants

Job Requirement:

2+ or more years managing small to medium programs and teams based in non-profit, healthcare or academic settings. The ability to interact with the diverse group of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, providers, patients and families, community partners and leaders in the field.
