Job Description:

Our client, a successful not-for-profit company located in Toronto (North York) is currently in need of   a Finance Manager to join their team.   In this onsite role, you will be direction to your team while also working closely with the CFP Manager to help guide the business and finance.    You will hold prior experience in continuous improvement and experience with both AR/AP functions.   To be considered for this position you must have 3+ years in a lead role managing finance operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements for presentation to the Board of Directors
  • Review current documentation to assure compliance for internal and external audits
  • Manage accurate entry of JE and ensure proper support documents are included
  • Develop reports for reconciliation, accruals, * adjusting
  • Utilizing Sage software – manage costing analysis and preparation of financial statements with forecasts and variances
  • Assure Finance staff accuracy for paperwork provided to Finance Manager
  • Assure balance of Billing
  • Assure compliance to regulations on financial obligations; HST, PST & ON tax rules
  • Lead the month end close process
  • Review and update of manuals and best practises to assure compliance to Finance Manager process
  • Provide training and ongoing support to finance team
  • Assure accuracy of the teams Budgeting and forecasting reports

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a Financial Manager role
  • Management reporting and analysis as required
  • Experience with analysis of reports
  • Experience with updating and policy change
  • Able to articulate findings to board of directors
  • Strategic and analytical to interpret reports and to provide recommendations
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Prior Sage 300 or Sage software experience
  • Ability to manage expectations of finance
