ROAN's client in North York seeks to build their team with this key position.
Job Function:

Have a strong understanding of large scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a systems or support engineer, and pre-sales experience. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on wireless IoT .

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with our customers, understand their technical requirements, timelines and project goals
  • Work with our core-engineering to build customer solutions based on our proprietary system, modify and extend our capabilities and help the customers to succeed with their projects
  • Hands-on embedded systems / IoT engineering to build proof-of-concepts and/or integrate with existing customer solutions like sensors, machine controls and monitoring / cloud systems
  • Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of the product, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the engineering, sales and business development teams
  • Author or otherwise contribute to our client’s customer-facing publications such as whitepapers
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, core-engineering teams, sales and support
Job Requirement:

 Basic qualification:

  • Extensive experience in embedded systems, wireless connectivity, IoT architectures and Cloud architectures
  • Design/implementation/consulting experience with embedded systems and IoT applications
  • Technical degree required; Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background desired

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience with wireless systems (e.g. Sigfox, LoRaWAN, NB-IOT, LTE-M, Bluetooth...)
  • Experience with common microcontroller architectures and their operating systems (e.g. RTOS, ARM MBED)
  • Very good programming skills (C, C++, Java, JS, Python)
  • Excellent understanding of end-to-end IoT workflows using industry standards (MQTT, CoAP, Websocket, REST)
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
